My Beloved Hometown (The descriptive text)

My Beloved Hometown
It has been 2 years since I first came to this city, Semarang. I come from one of the districts in Brebes regency  that is in Bantarkawung especially in Jipang village. Perhaps, many people know that Brebes people speak Javanese in their daily life. However, in the fact, there are five subdistricts in Brebes using Sundanese because geographically they are close to West Java province including my hometown. Having a different language with Semarang people whose language is Javanese makes me have to adapt and only use Indonesian to communicate with others. Sometimes, I don’t understand what they are talking in Javanese. It makes us experience a miscommunication. However, being a minority is not problem for me as long as I can put myself well.
Jipang village is located in the southern part of Brebes that is a mountainous area. It is near to Baribis mountain. It causes the temperature is rather cold and not as hot as in Semarang city. There are many fields and hills in my hometown. The majority of population in my village work as farmer, teacher, and employee. Every Monday morning, I usually go jogging with my friends to the top area of my village to see the sunrise. From there we can see Slamet mountain that encircled by five regencies of Central Java. They are Cilacap, Banyumas, Brebes, TegaI, and Prubalingga. The view is really gorgeous. In addition, the fresh air in the morning increases our enjoyment. My hometown is also near to several tourist attractions such as Cipanas Buaran in Pangebatan village, Ranto Canyon, Kalibaya, and Panenjoan in Salem. There are also some waterfalls like Curug Sarhawi and Curug Cimerak. Those are amazing nature sceneries you can enjoy there.
If Gunungpati has Krempyeng market, Jipang has Pasar Subuh. From the name, we’ll certainly guess that it only opens when dawn. Pasar subuh opens in every morning at 5 until 7 o’clock. There are many things sold in Pasar subuh although it is dominated by food. There are vegetable, any traditional cakes, fish, nasi uduk, and also there are clothes. In pasar subuh, we can do transaction with the sellers who are from the different village, even there are some sellers from the other district like from Bumiayu or Salem. I’m sure that the price is cheaper than in the Krempyeng market because most of them sell from their own fields. Pasar Subuh has been one of the characteristics of Jipang village due you can not find it in the other place in Bantarkawung.
As I said in the beginning that people in my hometown speak Sundanese, but it is not only about the language makes us different from the other districts in Brebes. However, our culture is also affected by West Java culture. For example, the food and the art. We usually enjoy the food that its taste is similar to West Java food, not like Javanese food that has a sweet flavor in every their food. Furthermore, Wayang Golek and Jaipong dance are more famous in our place than Wayang kulit or the other types of traditional art in Javanese culture. All those things really make me confuse about my place. But that is the fact. However, I should always love my hometown and all the culture inside it.
There are always many reasons you can not forget your own hometown, although perhaps the place you are living now is more comfortable or enjoyable. It is the same with me who will never forget my hometown, where I came from and grew up there. I really love my hometown.
